The Cambridge Brew Review - Jan 07

Ok, so the title wasn't exactly mind blowing, but the content is - I promise!

First, I would like to wish everyone out there in CBH Land a Happy Brew-year.

Second The Hartford Advocate's Best of Readers Poll is going on now. If you feel we deserve it, please help us retain our title of "Best Brewpub" by voting at Hartford Advocate today. Ballot entries must be in by January 31, 2007.

Third, and perhaps most important, Mr. Scanlon is finally off "Suicide Watch" after that Ohio State debacle, so I think it's safe to give everyone a glimpse at "What the Hell is Going On" (sorry WCCC) over the next few weeks at The Cambridge House.

1/18/07 Guest Brewer Series
Our Guest Brewer Series begins this Thursday 1/18/07 with a Bourbon Cask Ale by ???(you will have come on down and see for yourself). We will try to hold this event monthly, probably the 2nd Thursday of each month. Also, to entice you to try these special brews we will offer discounted pricing during the tasting and you will get to keep the logo glassware.

Every Thursday
Of course you know we have been hosting an "Open Mic" series for almost a year now. Dave Costa is your official host and invites everybody and anybody to come on down and play in front of a very appreciative crowd. I am also proud to say that we have booked almost 8-10 entertainers / bands through this forum. So if you are trying to get booked here, I think you know the best way to be seen and heard. See you Thursday.

1/21/07 Early Closing Christmas Party
This Sunday the Cambridge House will be closing at 6:00 to hold a private party (our employee Christmas Party). Some say we are 3 weeks late I like to think we are 11 months early. There is still time to come on down for lunch and watch the first game. Then go home to watch the Patriots / Indy game in the comfort of your own home.

2/04/06- The Big Football Game AFC vs. NFC
The biggest game of the year is coming up in the NFL (I can't legally use the word Superbowl in my marketing, D'oh). Unfortunately it also falls on the biggest pizza delivery day of the year. Coincidence, I think not. Our mission: to make it worth while for you not to sit on the couch and order pizza.

Our Game Plan - Free Food. Light app's such as cheese and veggi platters to start the game. Then open up the offense and go deep at halftime with a free buffet that includs pizza, wings, pasta, calamari, and other assorted items that chef Jim wants to whip up.

Need more- Pint specials and gambling. We will let the official coin toss determine the price of beer during the game: Heads = $2.00 pints and Tails = $3.00 pints (either way you are getting a great deal).

Two HD 60 inch PLASMA TV's" - Need I say more? See you Super Sunday!
