December 2003

Dear Santa
It's me little Stevie B from Granby Connecticut (just south of Springfield MA. and a little north of Hartford CT.). Sorry I haven't kept in touch the past few years but things have been pretty busy down here(as if I need to tell you about busy).

Anyway, here is my Christmas list for this year:

* I wish for one new parking lot design that will please even the toughest Inland and Wetlands Commission (it must be able to accommodate 8 cars per 1,000 sq feet of building).
* I also would like a shiny new 2,400 foot addition (upstairs and downstairs), with 2x6 construction, cathedral ceilings, sparkling new restrooms (boys & girls) with a nice inviting waiting area and a stainless steel 1,300 sq foot kitchen with all the bells and whistles!
* While your at it can you please send over one of your Northeast utility Elves and have him/her connect the new electrical service - once that's done we can finally install the brand new hardwood flooring (red oak of course) that you gave us last year!
* One final request - I would like a bowl game (in a warm climate) for The UCONN Huskies Football team - Florida would be nice.

Well Santa I know this seems like a lot to ask for but you must admit - I have been pretty good this year!? A nd I promise not to break anything and keep Scott away from all the power tools!

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Little Stevie B.

Dear Little Stevie B
It was nice to hear from you again, surprising but nice. I believe the last time you wrote you asked me for the "Six Million Dollar Man" action figure (with the bionic eye) - how's that working out for you? Anyway, here is my plan for this years Christmas list:

* New Parking Lot - I suggest you keep 1/14/04 open on your calendar. Plan on attending the I/W commission meeting at 7:00 pm and be sure to bring your "engineer elf" Tom Gramaldi (he has what you need) - I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
* 2,400 Sq foot addition - Once again I must refer you to one of my associates or my "Design and Engineering Elf" Lori DiBattisto of DiBattisso Associates. Lori and her team will be working with the nice folks at P&Z on 1/27 to finalize your new building. That means you can be building before Superbowl Sunday (you may want to wait until Monday).
* Nothing can be done without power and no one has as much power as the dreaded electric company EXCEPT ME SANTA CLAUSE - with that said you shall have power no later than 12/26!
* UCONN Bowl game - I got the same request from little Randy Edsall of Storrs Connecticut. Do you know him?

Yours truly,

Santa

p.s. instead of milk this year how about leaving out some of Schmitty's Winter Seasonal.
