January 2004

All right boys and girls things are really starting to pick up here at The Cambridge House, first let's congratulate the winner of our first ever contest "Name this News Letter" - and the winner is Mr. Al Salvatore with "The Cambridge Brew Review"!

Thanks for all the entries folks, it was such a tough choice that the owners had to ask for assistance to break the tie - so Al you should thank my wife Melissa for the nod (and the rest of you should shun her, only kidding honey).

We also have to give out a second prize to the person with the MOST submissions and that goes to Mr. Jeff Troian with 10 different entries - Jeff we're going to send you a $25 gift certificate just for the effort and the nice reference to Jimmy Carter!

Project Updates
* The Granby Inland & Wetland Commission has unanimously approved our parking lot and landscaping design - I hope to have the plans posted to the website shortly for everybody to see.
* Power - we have complete power and heat as of the end of December!
* Plumbing - we now have plumbing (our neighbors are really happy).
* Beautiful 4 inch wide hardwood flooring has been installed in the pub area, approx 2000 sq feet.
* Tapping of the sheet rock should begin the week of 2/2.
* Farmington Valley Health District has approved both the new sewer connection plan as well as the brand new septic and grease trap plan - basically we now have two options.
* Our final Planning and Zoning meeting (hopefully) is scheduled for 2/10/04 - according to all sources the plans look very good. I anticipate that the new construction to begin no later than the week of 2/16/04 - yes 04.

7bbl Pub Brewing System
Now for the most exciting news - The Cambridge House is pleased to announce the purchase of it's new 7bbl Pub Brewing System. The system is "turn-key" and includes 4 seven barrel fermenter's, 5 seven barrel serving tanks, brewhouse and all the bells and whistles.

The main two pieces called "The Brewhouse" will be copper clad and the fermenters will be stainless steel - all will be viewable from the pub area as well as outside and route 10/202.

Scott and I will be visiting our baby next Friday in NJ and should have pictures to upload next weekend. We expect delivery to Granby either the first or second week of March depending on the construction schedule. By the way if there are any volunteers out there that might be willing to help during the unloading process feel free to contact me - the more hands the better.

As a side note to our investor's - we stole this system, it's value is twice what we paid for it and it comes with a warranty!

Things are sooooo busy here that I don't have any more time for updates right now or any further witty remarks (ok, so there not that witty). Wish us luck on 2/10 and have a great and profitable Super Sunday!

Cheers,

Steve B.

p.s. - Next year the Super Bowl party is at 357 Salmon Brook Street.
