Summer 2004
Management lesson # 1 Delegate whenever possible.
Management lesson # 2 Consolidate whenever possible.
Management lesson # 3 When lesson # 1 fails (and it usually does) go directly to lesson # 2.
Based on the above logic, I now present to you the "Summer Edition" of The Cambridge Brew Review - Proudly covering the months of June, July and possibly August.
So much progress has happened since the last publication I'm not sure where to start, so I'll go back to the basics with a simple "Project Summary / Update".
|
Project Summary / Update # 900 Sq ft deck and ramp nearly completed a must see if you are in the area! # Brewery platform to house "Grist Mill" has been installed # Two beautiful extra wide Oak stair cases have been installed # Upstairs dinning area all framed out, including office and restroom # Plumbing for new addition has begun # Signed contract with national company to provide Satellite Music & TV service # New underground Propane tank delivered / installed # Hired company to do the exterior siding # Purchased new kitchen equipment (too much to list) # Contracts with suppliers / vendors complete
|
Next Steps # Begin siding the exterior of the building ( Yarmouth Grey w/white trim) # Finish excavating the parking lot and begin paving # Begin Landscaping # Brew first test batch by 9/1/04 # Go to UCONN football home opener 9/4/04 # Insulate, rock and paint interior of new addition # Open the doors
|
Conclusion # The project is just over 75% completed # Projected opening date is late Sept / early October 2004 # Most commonly asked question "When are you opening"? # 2 nd most asked question "Where are Scanlon and his new article"? # 3 rd most asked question "Do you have any free samples"?

Other We would like to thank everyone who stopped by and visited with us last month at the "Celebrate Granby in the Park". We really enjoyed meeting you and hopefully we'll see you in a few months. Rich and Jim served up some great fare (fall off the bone bbq ribs, homemade coleslaw and corn on the cob) and Steve's ESB was incredible. In fact, we had a guest from Albany NY that liked it so much he wrote about it on www.beeradvocate.com check it out.
If running out of both ribs and beer by 2:30 are any indication of things to come then giddy up!
We would also like to extend a warm welcome to the 234 new subscribers we picked up over the past 40 days, please feel free to email Scott or I with any comments, questions or suggestions. And to catch up on past editions of The Cambridge Brew Review check out our site at www.cambridgebrewhouse.com .
And on a final note I would like to welcome Mike Lecours to our team. Mike will be a senior at Marist College this year and is the first ever "intern" at The Cambridge House welcome to "Kramerica" Mike (I mean the Cambridge House).
That's it for now CBH "Brewpies" (Brewpub groupies), I promise the next edition will feature both Mr. Scanlon's and Mr. Schmidt's long awaited articles.
Cheers,
Steve
